SUMMARY:Student-Athlete Heart Screening (ECG/EKG) – October 17
DESCRIPTION:Important for new LRHS lacrosse players and families! \nBeginning with the 2026–2027 school year\, Florida requires incoming ninth-grade student-athletes and students in grades 10–12 participating in FHSAA-sanctioned athletics for the first time to complete an ECG/EKG heart screening. \nThe School District of Manatee County and Who We Play For are offering a convenient\, affordable screening opportunity for local student-athletes. \nScreening Details: \n\nQuick\, painless\, non-invasive ECG screening\nApproximately 5 minutes per screening\nReviewed by a board-certified pediatric cardiologist\nOpen to students ages 10–25\n$20 per student\n\nAdvance registration is encouraged. \nRegister through Who We Play For \nFamilies should confirm all required screening documentation with their school’s athletic department. \nThis is a community screening opportunity shared by MCLAX. The event is organized by Who We Play For in partnership with the School District of Manatee County.
